Follow Your Own Path

Christmas day 2017. As I sat on the headland at Cot Valley, watching a couple of seals playing in the surf and contemplating my life and business, a heron cruised past, landed on the beach and started fishing in the rock-pools. Seemed like a pretty powerful message to me.

Heron speaks, among other things, about having the courage to follow your own path. I decided right there that I would close my web design business and concentrate on my painting; and so I went home and began working on this piece, which was finished on New Year’s day 2018.
